Corinthian Regatta Report
Sorcery Competes at 2008 Corinthian Midwinters run by Corinthian Yacht
Club of Tiburon California. Due to lack of wind there were no races run on
Saturday but the conditions on Sunday made up for the lack of wind. Sunday
started out very non promising however after the start the wind built to about 15
knots. Sorcery drilled the start in the middle of the line and in the light air and
big current conditions slowly ghosted through the fleet all the way up the
Raccoon Straights, the end of the straights came through with very different
conditions. At the end of the straights Sorcery was the only boat on  the left side
with the rest of the fleet hiding inside for current relief, but the tactician aboard
called it perfectly and the wind filled from the left and Sorcery never looked back.
Sorcery flew through the race course finished in a little less than one and a half
hours, beating the next boat by over 7 minutes and over 9 minutes ahead of
class A winner Howl! a Sydney 38. " The boat handled really well and we were
happy with our finish, our crew really came together and proved that they have
the talent to uphold the reputation of this world class yacht" Said Brian
Vanderspek skipper of the 83 foot Maxi. Sorcery looks forward to racing at next
months midwinters again held by the Corinthian Yacht Club the 16th and 17th of
February. For your chance to sail aboard this amazing sailing yacht visit
